Yesterday I had the chance to chat with Denham Springs Old Navy’s manager, Danny, and several of his assistant managers. They were supposed do a “soft open” of the store yesterday (11/19) for a two hour period, but due to the late installation of their T1 line (cable connection), it was taking longer than expected to get their cash registers online.
They will be open at 9am starting today, but their BIG Grand Opening event will start at 9am on Saturday, 11/22! The first 300 customers (I think) will get a free tote bag, described as being “really nice.” They’ll also receive a scratch-off card where “everyone’s a winner” with at least some kind of discount but with the possibility of winning a free gift card — I think he said they mostly ranged from $10 to $25, but ONE $500 gift card would be given away. There will be sales, free shirts, food trucks (not free), and the Walker High Band.
If you had a VIP ticket for yesterday (they had a special discount for shopping during the soft open on Wednesday), they WILL honor the discount on those tickets on Saturday (and the manager and assistants I spoke with yesterday were so nice, I think they would personally approve them beyond Saturday if you can’t make it in then).
Keep in mind that Juban Crossing WILL be packed on Saturday because Academy is continuing on with their Grand Opening, which starts tomorrow (on Saturday, the first 100 Academy customers receive a free pair of Crocs worth up to $39.99), and Marble Slab and Great American Cookie will also be opening on Saturday.
It will be VERY busy at Juban Crossing on Saturday! Remember, “patience is a virtue” regarding lines at checkout and trying to find a parking space! So excited to see these stores finally opening!
