In addition to the flurry of activity occuring at Juban Crossing, Denham Springs will soon be seeing the addition of several new restaurants and other businesses, according to media reports.
Pending rezoning approval, Church’s Chicken will be coming to the corner of Range and Tate Road, according to the Advocate. (Tate becomes Veterans Blvd. once you cross Range — this is the intersection with Chase Bank on one corner and Regions Bank on the opposing corner). This will be Denham’s only free-standing Church’s — there’s one in the gas station on Hwy 16 at Cane Market Road heading toward Watson. Long-time residents will remember the Church’s that used to be located on Range @ Florida where the Greek restaurant is now.
Firehouse Subs will be coming to Bass Pro Blvd. They’re currently hiring, according to a Craigslist ad on 1/27. Apply in person at their Baton Rouge location (5140 Corporate Blvd.) if you’re interested. Training will be at their BR location, with crew members gradually being transitioned to the Denham location.. Update, 4/21: According to Patrick, manager of the BR location, they’re aiming to open in mid-June.
Heroman’s Florist and Red Wing Shoes will be located next to Firehouse Subs, according to a November 4 article in The Advocate. Update, 4/21: Heroman’s will be relocating to the new building in May; they’re currently having a moving sale at their 1700 S. Range Avenue location.
Next to Cavender’s on Bass Pro Blvd., a 47,000 sq ft retail center is being built, which will house “Quaker Steak and Lube, a boutique dress shop, a cell phone provider, and a fitness concept,” according to Joe Moore of RE/MAX First, interviewed for the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report in August.
Jimmy John’s restaurant will be coming to Denham Springs, “hoping for an opening before summer,” according to an August 2014 article in the Livington Business Journal. It’s being franchised in our area by the franchisees of the Denham Smoothie King. The exact location hasn’t been announced. They’ll offer delivery of freshly-made subs.
